Hi All,
I hope you had a fantastic summer and are enjoying the cool transition into fall. We at K.I.D.S. Art Education are really looking forward to a new season of programming based on two FANTASTIC exhibitions: Michael Kukla, Hex & Grid, and David Ambrose, Surface to Surface. Both artists explore concepts of space, surface, design, layering, and structure in their work. We know the response to these exhibitions will make for some truly interesting student artwork.
Our first Drawing Together will be held tomorrow, Sept. 21, from 10 - 11:30. This fall, we have decided to implement a pay-what-you-can system so that we can better sustain this program and offer more frequent workshops. Suggested amount is $10 for a family of 2 and $15 for 3+ participants.
Starting October 5th, we will have Drawing Together EVERY SATURDAY! Hooray!
We also have an exciting new addition to our Saturdays-- a program in conjunction with Extreme Kids & Crew, which serves disabled children in the area. We will be providing a one-hour art class to these kids and their families on Saturdays at 12:30 pm at P.S. 15. For more information on this extremely worthwhile project, visit their website: http://extremekidsandcrew.org/
Our School Programs and After-School Programs start next week, Sept. 24 - 25. We are thrilled to be working with some longstanding partners: P.S. 15, Brooklyn New School, Red Hook Initiative, and Good Shepherd Services.
More updates on all of these programs as we move further into fall! I can't wait to see what unfolds!
